LUSH and Drugstore Skin Care Review | ♡

Hello Lovelies!

Thought it was about time I reviewed the products that I purchased and showed you in my Haul video the other week, or month, ah, oops!

Firstly, I'd like to start off by saying, I purchased these products because I have combination/dry skin, I also suffer from breakouts, mainly around my mouth and between my brows, I also suffer from sensitive skin, so basically just normal teenage skin! So, if you have around about the same skin type as me, or suffer from break outs, I highly recommend you read this review before purchasing these products!

Lush Skin Care Reviews

Firstly, the cleansing bar from Lush, which is called 'Fresh Farmacy', you can buy it here :)
I'm going to keep this short and sweet.

So, I heard rave reviews about this for people with spot-prone skin. I have been using it for over 2 weeks now and I can honestly see absolutely no difference! I bought a £240g lump of this for £8.50 at my local lush store. It leaves my skin feeling so tight after I wash this off with warm water. It also doesn't seem to calm my skin, only make it ever so slightly itchy & it also leaves it feeling dry and because I suffer from dry skin on my eye lids, I find that the 'soothing' components of this cleanser don't help the dry areas by my eyes at all! I will continue to use this, as I have a fair big lump left, and y'never know, it might all of a sudden work! Give this a wirl if you haven't got dry skin and you don't mind a tight sensation in your face! but I give it an overall, 5/10!

The next product I purchased is the spot treatment from Lush, called 'Grease Lightning', this is a tea tree oil based clear jell, if you would like to read more about this product, and maybe even purchase it, then click here, but here are my personal views on this product. Ok, this was a bit of a miss for me. I heard sooo many good reviews about this, on YouTube and other blogs, and about how much it helps soothes spots and then eventually get rid of them. I personally find that it spreads spots, as if you have multiple spots on your face, (which i do at the moment), and you rub it into them, using the same lot of jell, which you're going to because it pumps out quite a lot of jell in one pump, and because it is £5.95 for a small 45g bottle, you don't want to waste it! It's a bit impractical because the jell doesn't sit on your spot well, it comes off as you take your finger away. It also made my face feel tight, but it is soothing and it is soft afterwards, i just found that it didn't really help my spots, and that it took a while for the spot to clear, but it does soothe your spots. Overall, this product deserves a 7/10.

This next product from Lush, called the 'Mask of Magnaminty'. This product is a face & back mask pack, and it smells and feels so fresh on the skin! The second you put this mask on your face or back, you will feel the cooling sensation which instantly makes your face feel revitalized and fresh! You leave this mask on for 10-15 minutes, and in my opinion, you can feel it working! I use this mask on a Saturday evening, and a Wednesday evening, I don't know why I picked those days, but oh well! You can use this whenever you like, and because it's not a fresh face mask, it has a longer shelf life and doesn't have to be stored in the fridge! This mask does tighten your skin quite tight, so be warned! but if you have spot prone skin like me, you can feel it really working on your spots! I avoid my eyes, so I have no worry of it drying out my face. But, when I take this mask off with warm water, (has to be warm because it is a toughie to get off!) my skin feels unbelievably soft and it doesn't feel tight at all, but that may be because I moisturize straight afterward, (I use doublebase, which is a eczema moisturizer that I have prescribed to me), but I find that I feel fresh, clean and my skin feels great! Overall, this product is an 8.5\10!

Drugstore Skin Care Review

These next products I purchased from a drugstore we have in the UK called 'Superdrugs', but the brand is worldwide, so don't worry about not being able to find them if you're in a different country, or, just click here and find them for yourselves or purchase any other skin care products recommended to you!

Firstly, is the 'Olay Gentle Cleanser Conditioning Milk'. I LOVE this! It is so gentle to my skin, and it has a soft, milky consistency and it is honestly the best £1.49 i've ever spent! Although I like to use the Lush 'Farmacy' cleanser because I think that it should work because it's expensive, I always use this conditioning milk afterwards because the Farmacy leaves my face tight and dry, and this almost moisturizes my face as well as getting rid of my make up and any other foundation left on my face, where as Farmacy doesn't seem to do that. This product also doesn't create bubbles on your face, and therefore is so smooth when you are massaging it into your face and neck. Not much more to say about this other than, GO OUT AND BUY IT. It is such a bargain and it's a very good cleanser. This product gets a 9/10 from me!

This next product is the 'Olay Gentle Cleanser Refreshing Toner', i apply this with a cotton wool bud or a cotton pad, all over the face and neck after I cleanse, and although you're supposed to leave toner on, I like to wash it off because I don't like having too many chemicals on my face! But you can do whatever you want too! This was also £1.49, an absolute bargain! I avoid my dry patches as it does irritate them, so I would not recommend this to anyone with severely dry skin! This is very refreshing, but it's not a necessity in my daily routine, so I use it whenever my skin needs to be perked up or look a bit more vibrant! Overall, a 7.5/10.

The last product is the 'Olay Essentials Smoothing Face Scrub' for normal/dry skin.
I use this product about 3/4 times a week, sometimes even less because it is an exfoliant, so it does bring all your spots to the surface, which i've learnt by now is a very big mistake to make if you do this every day for a week like i did! (Probably why my face is full of spots!), but, it is gentle on the skin and it is soft, and because of the microbeads, it is a gentle exfoliant and it's not rough on the skin. It doesn't leave my skin feeling tight or dry either. Overall, it's a 7.5/10!

All of these Olay products are amazing if you're just starting to cleanse your face, or if you are a bit skint or just love a good bargain!

I hope these helped or help you chose your right skin care routine, because I'm still searching for the perfect lotions and potions to fix my blemishy skin! But for now, I Strongly recommend the Olay skin care products for now!

Thank you for reading,
my next blog post will be the MUA lipstick review and an outfit of the day post!
