September Favourites | Ameliadoeslife

It's October already?!
Damn! Where did September go?!

So, seeing as it's the end of September, I thought I would share with you guys, my September beauty favourites!

Considering I've been loving a lot of things this month, I think I'll get straight into it!

Maybelline's Babylips -

Cherry Me, Peach Kiss & Pink Punch

Yes, I am on the bandwagon with these bad boys. They are awesome. These are the only ones I have at the moment but I probably will end up getting them all eventually. I absolutely love the formula to these lip products. They're so moisturising and they keep my lips in tip-top condition. I was never really one for lip balms as I never really thought that my lips got very dry, but one day I woke up with quite dry lips and I thought, 'Oh, gonna' have to invest in some lip care products!', and around that time is when these little gems were released in the UK (where I live!). So, on my next drugstore visit, I picked up these three. I like them all in different ways, but my favourite by far has to be 'Cherry Me'. I am absolutely in love with this lip product. Not only do I love the formula, and the way it makes me lips feel during and after application, I absolutely adore the colour! It's a perfect soft, cherry pinkish red colour (I am bad at explaining, I know). It has officially become my, (wait for it) HOLY GRAIL product. Highly recommend these little guys. The packaging is so beautiful and they all smell good enough to eat.

Naked 2 Pallet -

Ha, another bandwagon product right here.
There's not really a lot I can say about this pallet other than how good it is. I got this on a complete impulse buy when I was shopping in London for my birthday, and I'm so glad I did! It's completely worth every penny as I use this every day and it is my complete go-to pallet. I definitely prefer this pallet to the original 'Naked' pallet as I tend to go for lighter colours on my eyes rather than dark, and the original Naked pallet has more dark shades than this one. I particularly like the shades 'Bootycall', 'Half Baked' and 'YDK'. If you fancy a high-end, every day make up pallet, definitely take a look at this one. I've also heard great things about the Naked Basic's pallet, so if you've used that, comment below your thoughts and opinions, and it may just have to be added to my make up collection!

Real Technique's Buffing Brush -

For a while I used the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to apply my foundation, and although I love that brush, the Buffing Brush is definitely my new favourite. This brush applies my foundations perfectly and it gives me a flawless finish afterward. I find that the Expert Face Brush tends to leave brush lines and it also takes a while to blend it all into my skin, whereas the Buffing Brush just glides over my skin and it seems to have a smooth and line-free finish. It's also softer and I don't feel like it's dragging my foundation over my skin. This brush reminds me of a stippling brush, just with denser hairs. I just think this brush is amazing, and it's even brilliant to apply pressed powder. You can find this in the Real Techniques Core Collection at any well-stocked drugstore.

La Roche-Posay; Effaclar Duo

I stumbled upon this product on a YouTube advert about a month ago now. The advert featured beauty guru's such as Tanya Burr, raving about this product and how it is their holy grail item.
So, of course I had to pick it up! It claims to reduce the appearance of imperfections and un-clog sebum-blocked pores. After using this for about 3 weeks, I can see that it helps my skin fight from blemishes and imperfections, but it hasn't stopped them completely, which in all honesty, I was hoping it would! I don't know whether my spots have gotten better because of a change in my diet or because it's not 'that time of the month' if you get what I mean ladies, or if this product is actually helping. But I've really begun to like this product as a primer for my foundation and as a moisturiser, as I find it's very moisturising and I don't feel like I need to apply a moisturiser after using this product!

Natio's Clay and Plant Face Mask Purifier -

I have been loving this little guy for about five months! This is Natio's Clay and Plant Face Mask Purifier. It's basically a gentle face mask that absorbs impurities and refines skin's texture. I use this product when I'm having a 'bad skin day', (we all have them). I just apply a thin layer on my face after I have deeply cleansed and I leave it on for about ten to fifteen minutes. The texture of this product is like watery clay, which I guess it's supposed to be! It goes on the skin really well and it doesn't irritate my skin in any way, and I have very sensitive skin! After I was this off with warm water, my face feels so unbelievably soft! I feel like my skin is rejuvenated after using this and I just really enjoy it! I don't know how much this retails for or where you can find it as I was given it as a gift from my sister, who I think got it from Australia. But if you're really interested in knowing, either comment down below, or use your old trusted friend, Google.

Garnier Intensive 7 Days Hand Cream SOS-Repair -

This is my all time favourite hand cream. It isn't my monthly favourite, it's my yearly favourite.
This hand cream is so moisturising because of the L-bifidus and Shea Butter, and because it's for dry to extra-dry hands, it means the formula is even stronger and even more moisturising! I only have to apply this hand cream twice a day (morning and evening) and my hands feel moisturised all day long. Because my job involves quite a lot of washing up, this helps keep my hands soft and smelling amazing! I keep it in my hand bag at all times as I don't think I could live without it! (slight exaggeration). If you'd like to see a 'What's in my hand bag' blog post OR possibly YouTube video, just comment below!

Bath & Body Work's Body Mist Fragrance in Venice, Dolce Berry -

This. stuff. smells. amazing.
I picked this up in Canada, as we sadly don't have Bath and Body Works over here in the UK! :( But this is my all time favourite scent, and I've had a lot of perfumes and body fragrances over the years! It's a perfect sweet, berry smell and it's just absolutely perfect. I think it was only five Canadian dollars, which is just amazing. My mum is currently in Canada, so I am definitely going to be asking her to bring me some back with her!

So that's all my September beauty favourites guys, if you'd like to see my non-beauty favourites, please comment below and also comment some YouTube video suggestions if you fancy!

Thanks for reading beauties!

I'M BACK BITCHES | Ameliadoeslife

Why hello there!

So after a 5 month unintentional break from blogging, I am back! I cannot wait to start blogging again, I know I didn't blog regularly before, but there are very good excuses to why I couldn't!
So, I think I owe you all an explanation for my absence!
For a start, I moved twice. I moved from my Dads first, then I was often staying at my sisters, and then I finally moved in with my Mum, and she only has an iPad, so I couldn't really blog on there, upload pictures and everything.
So you guys might know about Daisy if you've read my previous blog post, and she went to Canada to live with my sister, and I also went to Canada for a month afterwards to see her, my sister and her boyfriend in June! Since I've been back from Canada, I have gotten a pretty much full-time job, and I seem to still be living all over the place. Through all of this time I've had limited opportunities to use a laptop/computer, buuuuut... I have just gone out and purchased a new notebook (small laptop type thingy, it's basically a laptop without a DVD drive), so now I can blog whenever I want to, which is just awesome.

So, you may also wonder why the title says 'AMDB'? That is my new blog name/url just shortened. My new URL is 'ameliadoeslife'! I was going to chose 'ameliadoesbeauty' but I just thought, you know what, my blog won't just be beauty related, it will be life related, and everything that happens in it. I'm still not 100% sure on my new URL, but I cannot think of anything else that I like, but, if you think of something, please pop it in the comments and I would love to take a look at your suggestions!

Gosh I love blogging. I really just love expressing my opinions/feelings/life on 'paper'. (You get what I mean). I used to have a blog on a site called Piczo (yes, piczo, you heard correctly), and I actually had quite a good following. People seemed to like my blog posts because I just write how I would say things in a real conversation. I'm not particularly a fan of reading through blog posts which are boring, unanimated and often feel slightly forced... if you get what I mean.

Right, enough of this chattering malarkey!
I would really appreciate it if anyone reading this would comment blog post ideas down in the comments below. Ideas such as product reviews, monthly/current favourites (non-beauty and beauty related), outfit posts, everything.

Thanks for reading lovelies!
Love, Amelia.
